Just-in-Time (JIT) transport is a transport solution designed for companies that need punctuality and full control over deliveries. In this model, each transport is planned so that components, parts or materials arrive exactly when they are needed in the production process.

This approach allows you to reduce inventory, optimise costs and maintain the continuity of assembly lines. However, it requires precise planning, constant communication and a reliable carrier.

Jasek Transport provides JIT deliveries in Poland and the European Union, serving manufacturing, assembly and distribution companies. Thanks to our operational experience and delivery time monitoring system, we ensure full synchronisation of transport with the production schedule.

What is Just-in-Time transport?

Just-in-Time (JIT) transport is a logistics model in which goods are delivered exactly when they are needed — without prior storage and without safety stocks. The aim is to fully synchronise deliveries with the production or distribution cycle.

In practice, this means that a vehicle carrying components or semi-finished products arrives at the production plant at a specific time, in accordance with the assembly schedule. Any delay can halt production, which is why JIT transport requires constant time control and precise route planning.

This system requires full cooperation between the carrier and the customer – from schedule planning to ongoing information exchange. Drivers, dispatchers and the logistics department must respond to changes in real time in order to maintain the rhythm of deliveries in line with the production plan.

Just-in-Time transport is used primarily in industry and assembly, where timeliness, predictability and continuity of the process are crucial. It reduces storage costs, reduces inventory and increases the efficiency of the entire supply chain.

How does JIT transport organisation work in practice?

Just-in-Time transport requires careful planning and constant coordination between the carrier and the customer. Each stage — from order acceptance to delivery — must be synchronised with the production or assembly schedule.

At Jasek Transport, JIT transport is organised according to clearly defined rules.

1. Planning and needs analysis

Based on data from the customer, we determine the exact loading and delivery times. We analyse the route, travel time, possible traffic restrictions and vehicle availability. The delivery schedule is created so that the vehicle arrives at its destination exactly within the specified time window.

2. Assignment of a dedicated vehicle and team

For JIT transport, we assign drivers with experience in handling timely deliveries. Each order is assigned a supervisor who monitors the transport process and contacts the customer in real time.

3. Route monitoring and control

Each vehicle is equipped with a GPS monitoring system. This allows the operations department to react immediately if there is a risk of delay or a change in the collection schedule. If necessary, the route is adjusted on an ongoing basis.

4. Delivery within a precise time window

We make deliveries according to a set schedule — often at strictly defined times, tailored to the plant’s work cycle. The driver confirms unloading and the customer receives information about the completion of the delivery.

5. Report and analysis of execution

After the transport is completed, we prepare a report on the course of the order. In the case of regular deliveries, the data is used to further optimise routes and schedules.

For which companies and industries is JIT transport most beneficial?

Just-in-Time transport is primarily used in industries where continuity of production processes and precise coordination of deliveries are important. This model allows you to reduce inventory and maintain smooth operations without having to accumulate excess components.

Automotive industry

One of the first and most important industries to use the JIT system. Automotive components, assembly parts and subassemblies are delivered directly to the production line in a specific order and at a specific time. Any delay affects the entire production cycle, so maximum punctuality and real-time communication are required.

Industrial and assembly manufacturing

Factories that manufacture appliances, machinery or household equipment often operate on a daily production schedule. JIT transport ensures that semi-finished products and tools are delivered exactly when they are needed, eliminating storage and downtime costs.

Electronics and technological components

For manufacturers of electronic or telecommunications equipment, timeliness and security of transport are crucial. JIT allows delicate components to be delivered in small batches, without the risk of damage and with full control over delivery times.

Contract logistics and distribution

Logistics operators serving assembly plants, factories or production networks use JIT transport to maintain the smooth flow of goods between warehouses and assembly points. Precise scheduling minimises downtime and excess inventory.

Packaging and raw materials industry

Supplies of consumables — film, cardboard boxes, safety components — are often delivered on a JIT basis so that they do not take up space in production halls, while at the same time being available exactly when they are needed.

What goods are most often transported in the JIT system?

Just-in-Time transport mainly covers loads that have a direct impact on the continuity of production or assembly. In this model, it is not so much the type of goods that matters as their role in the process — components must arrive at a precise moment so as not to stop the line.

Components and assembly parts

The most commonly transported items are those used directly in the production process: screws, cables, panels, housings, plastic and metal components, and electronic components. Each delivery is synchronised with the assembly plan.

Semi-finished products and raw materials

Materials that form the basis for further processing — sheet metal, plastics, aluminium profiles, paper rolls, technical films. They require regular, short deliveries at a fixed frequency, often several times a day.

Tools and consumables

Deliveries of workshop tools, injection moulds, spare parts for machines or production equipment. In this case, JIT allows you to avoid technical downtime and maintain continuity of work.

Industrial packaging and auxiliary materials

Transport of bulk packaging, cartons, stretch film, pallets or labels – organised in accordance with the packaging or shipping schedule for finished products.

Finished products and end products

In some cases, the JIT system also covers the transport of finished products from the plant to a distribution centre or partner assembly plant, when the next stage of the process depends on their timely delivery.

Advantages of Just-in-Time transport

The Just-in-Time (JIT) model is a solution that combines high operational efficiency with full control over the supply chain. For manufacturing and logistics companies, this means real savings and greater flexibility in work planning.

Reduced inventory

The biggest benefit of JIT is that it eliminates the need to maintain large inventories. Goods arrive exactly when they are needed, which reduces storage costs and the need for storage space.

Maintaining production flow

Precise delivery planning enables work to proceed at a steady pace. Components arrive at the assembly line according to schedule, so production is not interrupted due to material shortages.

Reduction of operating costs

Fewer warehouses, lower inventory handling costs, fewer transhipments and shorter goods circulation times – these are elements that directly affect the profitability of the entire process.

Better use of resources

JIT allows resources – both human and spatial – to be concentrated on key stages of production. The warehouse is no longer a safety buffer, but a place for the flow of goods with a short rotation cycle.

High precision and predictability

Thanks to a strict delivery schedule and constant route monitoring, the company has full control over transport time. Any deviation is immediately detected and corrected.

Building partnership-based cooperation

The JIT system promotes long-term cooperation between the manufacturer, supplier and carrier. It requires constant communication and trust, which translates into stability throughout the entire supply chain.

Why should you entrust JIT transport to Jasek Transport?

Just-in-Time transport requires reliability, operational discipline and precise planning. It is a model in which every mistake translates into real costs and production downtime. That is why, in this type of logistics, it is crucial to have a carrier who understands the rhythm of production plants and is able to adapt to time requirements.

Experience in industrial logistics

Jasek Transport has been delivering to production plants, assembly plants and distribution companies in Poland and throughout the European Union for many years. We understand the specifics of cyclical transport, shift deliveries and the requirements associated with delivery time control.

Constant supervision and real-time communication

Each JIT transport is monitored from loading to unloading. The customer has ongoing insight into the status of the shipment and contact with the order supervisor. In the event of unforeseen operational events, we react immediately and update the schedule.

Dedicated vehicles and drivers

We assign drivers with experience in working under time constraints to handle JIT deliveries. Vehicles are equipped with GPS systems and adapted to various types of cargo – from components to finished industrial products.

Stability and predictability

As a family-owned company with an established position in the industry, we operate with a permanent team of drivers and technical facilities. This allows us to guarantee punctuality and timeliness even for long-term contracts.

Adaptation to customer specifics

Each JIT delivery schedule is created individually, taking into account the production cycle, ramp availability, warehouse working hours and required intervals.

How to order Just-in-Time transport?

The process of ordering JIT transport at Jasek Transport has been simplified so that as little time as possible passes between the first contact and the execution of the order. From the very beginning, the customer works with the person responsible for transport coordination, thanks to which the entire process runs smoothly and without unnecessary exchange of documents.

1. Enquiry and analysis of needs

Simply send us the details of your order — loading and unloading addresses, delivery date, type of goods and required time window. Based on this, we will prepare a transport plan and quotation.

2. Agreeing on a schedule

Once the offer has been accepted, we set a precise schedule, taking into account the production cycle, warehouse working hours and possible time reserves. The final delivery plan is approved by both parties.

3. Assigning a vehicle and driver

The order is assigned to a dedicated driver and operations team, who supervise the entire transport process. Each vehicle is monitored, and the customer receives ongoing updates on the progress of the delivery.

4. Delivery and confirmation

Once the transport is complete, the customer receives a delivery confirmation along with a delivery report. In the case of ongoing cooperation, the data from the reports is used to further optimise the schedule.

Just-in-Time Transport – frequently asked questions

Is JIT transport more expensive than standard transport?

Not always. The unit cost of transport may be higher, but overall, the JIT system reduces expenditure on warehousing, inventory management and storage space. As a result, it often leads to savings.

Do you support JIS?

Yes, we can connect to JIS.

How do you reduce the risk of delays?

Contingency plans, monitoring, early alerts; we establish SLAs. Each vehicle is monitored by GPS, and each order is supervised by a dispatcher. In the event of delays en route — e.g. caused by traffic — the route is modified and the customer is immediately informed of the change.

Is JIT only suitable for large manufacturing companies?

No. JIT transport is also used by medium-sized companies, especially those that have regular deliveries of components or work with contractors with high time requirements.

What if the delivery cannot take place at the agreed time?

In the event of changes on the customer’s side, we adjust the schedule in real time. Thanks to direct contact with the driver and dispatcher, we can react flexibly and reschedule the delivery within a safe time frame.

What goods are not suitable for JIT transport?

The JIT system is not suitable for bulk cargo or cargo with very low turnover – i.e. cargo that does not require strict synchronisation with production. In such cases, scheduled or partial transport (LTL) is a better solution.

Does Jasek Transport provide JIT deliveries outside Poland?

Yes. We provide Just-in-Time transport throughout the European Union – mainly to Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Italy and the Netherlands. Each route is planned taking into account travel time, borders and customer requirements.

Can JIT be combined with other transport services?

Yes. Some customers combine JIT with partial, groupage or dedicated transport, or door-to-door transport, which allows them to tailor logistics to different needs and types of goods within a single supply chain.
