At Jasek Transport, we provide comprehensive ADR transport services throughout Poland and Europe. Our services combine punctuality with strict compliance with the rigorous guidelines of international law (Geneva Convention).
The transport of dangerous goods (ADR) is one of the most demanding branches of logistics, where there is no room for routine or improvisation. The transport of chemicals and flammable materials involves enormous legal and environmental responsibility. A single procedural error is enough to expose a company to severe financial penalties and irreversible damage to its image.
We have a fleet precisely adapted to the specific nature of dangerous goods and a team of drivers with valid licences. Our certified safety adviser (DGSA) supervises the correct course of each process, vehicle marking and transport. By choosing us, you can be sure that your cargo is not only insured, but above all handled in accordance with the highest safety standards.
What we transport under ADR
Our fleet is adapted to transport a wide range of hazardous materials in so-called packages (packaged goods, palletised goods, goods in barrels or IBC/DPPL containers).
We handle the transport of cargoes in classes 2 to 6 and classes 8 and 9. We carry out orders for the chemical, automotive, construction and agricultural industries, transporting, among other things:
Gases (Class 2)
Including compressed gases, liquefied gases and cargo in aerosol packaging (e.g. technical sprays, varnishes).
Flammable liquids (Class 3)
The most popular group of goods, including paints, varnishes, solvents, adhesives, technical alcohols, as well as fuels and oils in barrels.
Flammable solids (Class 4.1, 4.2, 4.3)
Flammable substances in solid form, self-reactive materials and those that emit flammable gases in contact with water (e.g. sulphur, plastic granules, activated carbon).
Oxidising substances and organic peroxides (Class 5.1, 5.2)
Including nitrate-based fertilisers, paint and resin hardeners.
Poisonous materials (Class 6.1)
Pesticides, plant protection products and industrial chemicals requiring special care.
Corrosive materials (Class 8)
Acids, alkalis, cleaning concentrates and batteries (wet).
Various dangerous materials and objects (Class 9)
A broad category covering goods that pose a threat to the environment, as well as lithium-ion batteries and accumulators, which are crucial for the automotive industry.
Important exclusion: in order to ensure the highest safety standards and due to the specific nature of our fleet, we do not transport explosives (Class 1) or radioactive materials (Class 7). We focus on the road transport of conventional goods, providing them with optimal transport conditions.
What is required for ADR transport?
The organisation of hazardous materials transport requires close cooperation between the sender and the carrier. Unlike neutral cargo, every detail is legally significant here. In order for us to carry out your order safely and in accordance with regulations, the process is divided into three key areas of responsibility.
Information necessary for quotation and order
The basis for accepting ADR cargo for transport is its correct identification. At the quotation stage, the sender must provide us with the UN number (four-digit material identification number) and information about the Packaging Group (I, II or III), which determines the degree of danger. It is also necessary to provide the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the substance being transported. This document allows our DGSA advisor to assess the risk, select the appropriate vehicle and determine the route, taking into account any restrictions on driving through tunnels.
Sender’s responsibilities: packaging and labelling
According to the ADR convention, the sender is responsible for preparing the goods. The cargo must be packed in certified (approved) packaging that is leak-proof and resistant to the transported substance. Each cargo unit (e.g. pallet, barrel, IBC container) must have legible and durable labelling: warning labels corresponding to the hazard class and a clear UN number. Correct labelling is crucial for emergency services in the event of a possible accident.
The role of Jasek Transport: equipment and documentation
It is our responsibility to ensure that the means of transport is fully compliant with regulations. We provide a vehicle marked with orange plates (with numbers or plain, depending on the type of transport) and equipped with the required fire-fighting and personal protective equipment for the driver (ADR box). Our driver has a valid ADR certificate, and there is a written instruction manual for the driver (the so-called accident manual) in the cab. We issue or verify the transport document, ensuring that every roadside inspection goes smoothly.
Safety standards and supervision of the ADR process
When transporting hazardous materials, safety is not an option, but the foundation of every operational activity. At Jasek Transport, we have implemented a multi-stage risk control system that goes beyond the mandatory legal requirements. Substantive supervision of all processes is carried out by our certified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA). His role is not limited to formal documentation control; it includes ongoing auditing of procedures, selection of appropriate means of transport for the hazard class, and regular staff training, which guarantees full compliance of the services provided with updates to the ADR Convention.
We ensure the physical safety of the cargo through rigorous technical standards. Each vehicle in our fleet dedicated to ADR transport undergoes extended technical inspections and is equipped with a complete emergency kit, including not only the required fire extinguishers, but also a professional ADR box with personal protective equipment for the driver, eye washers and sorbents. We attach particular importance to load securing technology. We use certified transport straps, anti-slip mats and spreader beams in accordance with the PN-EN 12195 standard, which eliminates the risk of movement or damage to packaging containing hazardous substances during transit.
Our standards are complemented by the financial security of the entrusted property and the natural environment. We have an extended OCPD insurance policy (Civil Liability of the Carrier in international and domestic traffic with an ADR clause). Unlike standard transport insurance, this policy covers not only the value of damaged goods, but also any costs of rescue operations, leak neutralisation and site remediation in the event of an accident. This gives our partners a guarantee of full protection of their interests, even in the most unforeseen scenarios.
Which industries do we most often serve in the field of ADR transport?
The specifics of transporting dangerous goods vary depending on the sector of the economy. At Jasek Transport, we adapt our transport technology to the requirements of specific industries, understanding that the transport of solvents requires different safety measures than the transport of finished batteries. Our offer is directed in particular to three strategic sectors.
Chemical and paint industry
We serve manufacturers and distributors of paints, varnishes, resins, solvents and industrial adhesives. We understand the specifics of transport in combined packaging and on pallets, ensuring the stability of cargo that is sensitive to shock and mechanical damage. We ensure the continuity of raw material supplies for production and the distribution of finished products to retail chains.
Automotive and E-mobility sector
Modern motoring is not only about mechanical parts, but increasingly about advanced energy cells. We specialise in the transport of lithium-ion batteries (in accordance with Class 9 regulations) and pyrotechnic components for safety systems (e.g. seat belt tensioners). We have the necessary expertise to safely transport batteries, both new and those intended for disposal.
Agrochemical industry
We support modern agriculture by providing seasonal and regular deliveries of plant protection products and nitrate-based fertilisers (oxidants). Our procedures take into account strict standards for the separation of goods, which is crucial when transporting substances that cannot react with other organic materials or food.
ADR transport – frequently asked questions
What is the difference between general transport and limited quantity (LQ) transport?
Limited quantity (LQ) transport refers to the transport of dangerous goods packed in small unit packages (e.g. paint cans, sprays) which are placed in collective packaging. If the weight and packaging meet the LQ exemption criteria, such transport is exempt from some of the strict regulations (e.g. it does not require orange plates on the vehicle, although it does require packaging to be labelled). Our DGSA advisor verifies each time whether the cargo is eligible for transport under the simplified LQ rules, which can reduce the cost of the service.
Do you transport hazardous waste?
Yes, the transport of waste subject to ADR regulations requires additional environmental permits. Jasek Transport is entered in the BDO Register (database of products, packaging and waste management), which authorises us to legally transport hazardous waste. When carrying out such orders, in addition to the ADR transport document, we also use Waste Transfer Cards (KPO) in an electronic system, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations.
Does the driver assist with the loading of ADR goods?
In accordance with health and safety regulations and the ADR Convention, the driver has limited scope to interfere in the loading process, especially in the case of toxic or corrosive materials. His main responsibility is to supervise the correct placement and securing (stowage) of the load on the vehicle to prevent it from moving. The loader, who has the appropriate equipment and trained personnel, is responsible for the physical placement of the goods on the trailer.
What information do I need to provide to receive a quote?
In order to accurately quote for ADR transport and select the appropriate vehicle, we need four key pieces of information: the UN number of the substance, the packing group, the gross weight of the load, and the number and type of packages (e.g. 4 drums on a pallet). We also recommend sending the product’s Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which allows us to fully verify safety requirements before accepting the order.
Do you transport all ADR classes?
Our offer covers most classes of dangerous goods necessary for modern industry. We specialise in the transport of gases (class 2), flammable liquids (class 3), flammable solids (classes 4.1, 4.2, 4.3), oxidisers (class 5), toxic substances (class 6) and corrosive substances (class 8) and various (class 9). Due to specific safety requirements and the design of our fleet, we deliberately exclude explosives (class 1) and radioactive materials (class 7) from our offer. This allows us to maintain the highest standard of service for conventional cargo.
What documents are required for transport?
The basis for legal transport is a correctly completed ADR transport document, which must be provided by the sender. This document must contain key data: UN number, correct transport name, warning label numbers, packaging group and tunnel restriction code. In addition, the driver must have written instructions in accordance with ADR (emergency instructions) and a valid ADR training certificate in the cab. In the case of hazardous waste transport, a Waste Transfer Card (KPO) must also be issued in the BDO system.
Can I take advantage of LQ (Limited Quantity) simplifications?
Yes, we always analyse the possibility of applying an exemption for goods packed in limited quantities (Limited Quantity). If your products are packed in small unit packages (e.g. cans, bottles) placed in collective packaging and do not exceed the weight limits specified in the ADR agreement, transport can take place under simplified rules. This means that there is no need to mark the vehicle with orange plates. Our DGSA advisor verifies this possibility at the quotation stage.
What are the route restrictions for ADR vehicles?
The transport of hazardous materials is subject to strict restrictions regarding road infrastructure. A key restriction is tunnel categories (A to E), which may be completely closed to the transport of certain substances. In addition, we plan routes avoiding ferry crossings, water intake protection zones and large urban centres, if required by local regulations. Our forwarding department verifies the route each time to avoid sensitive points and ensure smooth passage without violating any restrictions.
Do you provide ADR transport 24/7 and ASAP?
In the chemical and automotive industries, downtime is unacceptable, which is why we transport dangerous goods on a continuous basis (24/7). In emergency situations, we offer a Time Critical service, which involves the immediate provision of a dedicated ADR vehicle (ASAP). In such a scenario, a vehicle with a team of licensed drivers goes directly to the recipient, which is the fastest and safest method of delivering the missing raw material to the production line.
